Ostracized by society, thousands of India's widows flock to the holy city of Vrindavan near Delhi capital, begging and chanting for money to survive till they die.
These Hindu widows, the poorest of the poor, are shunned from society and rejected by their own relatives and children when their husbands die... not for religious reasons, but because of tradition and the ancient and false belief that they are responsible of their husband's death.
They are also seen as a financial burden for most low and average income families.
They cannot remarry, must not wear jewelry, even their shadow is considered as bad luck.
