Portraits of Rohingya refugees taken in Thailand in 2016.
Most of them have fled Myanmar either by boat or land, through human trafficking networks, to escape ethnic violences and persecutions perpetrated by buddhists extremists, Burmese army or police in 2012 in Rakhine State.
During that year alone an estimated 140,000 people were internally displaced within Burma, and almost 86,000 made the hazardous journey into neighbouring countries including Thailand.
According to the U.N, Rohingya are one of the most persecuted minorities in the world.
